About

Hi, my name is April… I’m a writer who never thought she could…  I’m out to prove that maybe I can.

Personal areas of interest include the passionate expression of the human condition, the paranormal, and a nod to romance.  I will often write about the spiritual journey and the yearning to be whole.

You’ll find a mix of creative fiction, personal growth, and writing that is slightly out of the box.

Welcome.

  • Hi April,

I just happened upon your blog for the second time and have to say I love it. I feel a real synchronicity with your journey of self-exploration through your writing. Best of luck with your revised focus on spiritual unfoldment.

I believe it’s not by chance I found myself here writing these words to you. By sharing our discoveries, triumphs, frustrations and fears we benefit from collective experience of journeying towards enlightenment.

(Not surprised to find some of my blogging buddies here also !)

  • you and shraddra have me confused. she left a comment saying you have “combined” domains and asked me to change the link on my blogroll. yet you both still have separate blogs. also. i do not know which link to use. lol all three of them?

    • Combined might not have been the best word. My Little Writer blog is still in operation – it’s just a place I can put down thoughts about the process of writing, as well as post the occassional piece or two.

The Self Love Project is a combined effort to journey the path of reinvention and self-discovery. They both have unique purposes and intents.

So, you might see posts from both – please don’t feel you need to comment on both, though… just comment where your interest takes you!

  • Hi there! So glad you commented so I could find your little spot. Love your last comment to Charles about “wearing suckage proudly.” I am cracking up over here….
That said, it looks like you’ll have nothing to wear, as you most certainly do not suck. 😉 I’ll be back…

    • LOL, thanks kindly! Learning to appreciate when you fall is a skill. I’m sure I will find my face in the dirt many a time in the coming days, but hopefully will learn something in the process. 🙂 (love the name of your blog, btw! will have to read some of your prose – the titles sound intriguing).

  • Hi April,

What a fantastic idea for a blog…I will be back, I am going through a little writers block in my “real writing”, and I have a feeling I could learn a lot from you here.

    • Oh, B! That’s quite the comment. I don’t know whether to laugh or hide. Very sweet of you to say so… all I’ve got is my heart bleeding on my sleeve. But if you’re feeling vampirous, this is where you should visit. Often. 🙂

  • thank you for the comment. i think we can be anything we want to be if we set our minds to it. i never wrote a word until about 7 years ago. always remember: writing is an art and not necessarily a profession. develop your own voice and let it carry you. and always follow your heart.

      • o you had it right dear. “just let it flow” its a lot like meditation. enpty all your thoughs and let the words find you. winnie the pooh said – “Poetry and Hums aren’t things which you get, they’re things which get you. And all you can do is go where they can find you.”

What I work at is spellchecking because I’m a little legally blind. So I apologize if I’m a terrible commenter but I am.

Still I added you to my blogroll and I will try to follow what I can. I wish you luck in your writing. Remember – If you make a mistake do it magnificently, consistently and like you did it on purpose and no one will ever question you.

        Peace.

      • Thank you Charles! Very kind of you… And if you don’t mind I will add you to my blogroll as well. 🙂
–About 6 months or so ago I learned the hard way about not being true to my voice – I was taken to task for writing something according to how I thought it “should” be written vs. writing it how “I” would write it. Problem was… who was that “I”? So I’m taking it a little slower, feeling my way. And if I totally suck, I’ll wear my suckage proudly – excellent advice!

    • Absolutely… only keep in mind my medium is more fiction than poetry… what poetry I manage to write will likely bump and squeak along – hopefully deepening with time. May I add you to my blogroll as well?

Even better… I’m going to subscribe to your feed via Google Reader. I want to read the latest Jaymie poem hot off the presses – and perhaps you could do the same?
